60ft x 12ft Wide Beam - Five Years Old, Ready for a Fresh Start
Boudicca came to us at just five years old for a full exterior transformation. Originally supplied as a sailaway, her superstructure had never been properly painted and had been left largely in primer. As primer is porous and not designed as a long-term exterior finish, she was ready for some much-needed protection.
The hull was fully shot blasted and protected with a two-pack epoxy blacking system, while the superstructure was prepared and spray painted in Alexseal Acrylic X Metallic. Non-slip coatings were applied to the roof, decks and gunwales for a durable and practical finish.
Alexseal metallic finishes require a clear coat, which protects the metallic colour beneath while providing additional depth and gloss. The clear coat also has the benefit of being buffable, meaning light tree scratches, scuffs and minor surface marks can often be polished out without the need for repainting.
To finish the transformation, we sanded and repainted the window and porthole frames in black, giving them a fresh, crisp appearance against the new metallic paintwork.
The result was a complete transformation, giving Boudicca the finish and long-term protection she should have had from the beginning.
