What's included

A full repaint takes your boat back to bare steel, top to bottom. We shot blast the superstructure and the hull, including the base plate, then build up a proper two-pack system: epoxy blacking below the waterline and a multi-stage paint system above it.

Back to bare steel, top to bottom

Every surface is shot blasted to Sa 2.5, the superstructure as well as the hull, removing mill scale, rust and old, failing paint.

Painting over old coatings is a false economy: if the layer underneath lets go, everything on top goes with it. Starting from clean, profiled steel gives the new system something to grip, which is what makes it last.

A proper multi-stage paint system

Above the waterline we follow a professional, multi-stage two-pack system:

  • Shot blasting to Sa 2.5
  • Two-pack epoxy high-build primer
  • Two-pack epoxy finishing primer
  • Non-slip coatings on gunnels, bow deck and stern deck
  • Two-pack acrylic urethane topcoats, including metallic colour options

Alexseal topcoats

For the topcoat we use Alexseal Acrylic Topcoat X, a high-gloss, two-pack acrylic urethane system built for the yachting industry.

It combines acrylic and polyester technology for real gloss and depth, is easy to sand and polish for future upkeep, and has strong UV resistance, colour stability and abrasion resistance, standing up to saltwater and fuel contact.

Below the waterline, too

A full repaint includes the hull. After blasting, we apply Jotun Jotamastic 90, a high-performance two-pack epoxy blacking, to the whole hull, from the base plate up to the top rubbing strake. It's backed by a 4 year guarantee on selected systems (T&Cs apply).
