Common questions

Can you collect my boat from my marina?

Our price includes collection and delivery. We regularly collect from some of the marinas marked on this map, and we can collect from other marinas that have lifting facilities, such as a crane or boat hoist. If your marina can't lift your boat out, we'll arrange collection from a nearby marina that can.

What size boats does the price cover?

Our shot blasting and two pack epoxy blacking price covers narrowboats up to 60ft long including collection and delivery from Dunchurch Pools Marina or other local marinas. For longer boats, widebeams and Dutch barges, get in touch for an individual quote. Please note: Our advertised price of £6,995 is based on collection and return to Dunchurch Pools Marina, where we have established transport and crane costs. We can collect boats from other marinas or locations where a suitable crane or hoist is available. However, additional charges may apply to cover increased transport and crane/hoist costs, particularly for locations further from our workshop. Please contact us with your boat’s location and we will provide an accurate quotation for collection and return.

How long is my boat out of the water?

A standard blast and black takes around 5-6 working days in our yard (depending on the works you are having). We give you a fixed date when you book, so you can plan around it.

How often should a narrowboat hull be blacked?

Most narrowboats need re-blacking every two years with a traditional bitumen blacking. A hull that has been shot blasted back to bare steel and coated with a two-pack epoxy lasts far longer between treatments, which is why many owners make the switch.
