Our price includes collection and delivery. We regularly collect from some of the marinas marked on this map, and we can collect from other marinas that have lifting facilities, such as a crane or boat hoist. If your marina can't lift your boat out, we'll arrange collection from a nearby marina that can.

Our shot blasting and two pack epoxy blacking price covers narrowboats up to 60ft long including collection and delivery from Dunchurch Pools Marina or other local marinas. For longer boats, widebeams and Dutch barges, get in touch for an individual quote. Please note: Our advertised price of £6,995 is based on collection and return to Dunchurch Pools Marina, where we have established transport and crane costs. We can collect boats from other marinas or locations where a suitable crane or hoist is available. However, additional charges may apply to cover increased transport and crane/hoist costs, particularly for locations further from our workshop. Please contact us with your boat’s location and we will provide an accurate quotation for collection and return.

Most narrowboats need re-blacking every two years with a traditional bitumen blacking. A hull that has been shot blasted back to bare steel and coated with a two-pack epoxy lasts far longer between treatments, which is why many owners make the switch.

Shot blasting strips a steel hull back to clean, bare metal, removing rust, old or failing coatings and mill scale. This creates the ideal surface for the new coating to properly bond directly to the steel, giving a stronger, longer-lasting finish and helping to protect the hull against future corrosion.

For the two pack epoxy blacking we use Jotun 90 below the waterline including the base plate. Penguard two pack high build primer, Alexseal 442 finishing primer, two pack acrylic undercoats for the non slip areas and Alexseal Acrylic X topcoats on the superstructure. Alexseal Acrylic X Clear Coat can also be applied over the colour topcoat to provide an additional protective layer. It helps enhance the depth and gloss of the finish while providing increased resistance to UV exposure, weathering and general wear, helping the painted surface retain its appearance for longer for an additional cost.

Yes, we remove all existing anodes from your boat prior to shot blasting. We then weld new fixing bolts to the hull, allowing the replacement anodes to be securely bolted into position after the blasting and coating process is complete.

We fit four 2.8kg magnesium anodes as standard, with each anode secured using two welded fixing bolts.
